Ageless Derma Apple Stem Cell & Peptide Anti Wrinkle Cream for Younger Looking Skin

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Many wrinkle creams & lotions sold in drug stores, department stores & on the internet, promise to reduce wrinkles & prevent or reverse damage on your skin from the sun.

The question that we all have is, do they work? That often depends on the specific ingredients of the cream and how long you use them. Because these over-the-counter (nonprescription) wrinkle creams aren't classified as drugs, they're not required to undergo scientific research to prove their effectiveness.

If you're looking for a face-lift in a bottle, you probably won't find it in over-the-counter wrinkle creams. The benefits of these products are usually only modest at best. That has been my personal experience.  But, when you use a cream or lotion with the right ingredients in them and combine it with a healthy diet, plenty of rest and water, then you will get results.

After becoming a mom in my thirties, I lost some of my skin's elasticity due to many sleepless nights, a poor diet, lack of drinking water & replacing it with coffee and canned sodas. Not healthy at all! My skin looked awful and that is when I decided to do something about it.  I started eating healthier meals, drinking plenty of water and combined this with a great skin cream. Beauty can only be effective if you take care of the inside as well as the outside.

One facial cream that has excellent ingredients is Ageless Derma Stem Cell and Peptide Anti Wrinkle Cream. It incorporates an apple stem cell extract called PhytoCellTec that has demonstrated 100% effectiveness in measurably reducing facial wrinkles.

Combining seven scientifically proven anti-aging ingredients into one product, Ageless Derma Stem Cell and Peptide Anti-Wrinkle Cream eliminates the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improves the firmness and elasticity of skin, removes crow’s feet and re-energizes skin for a smoother, firmer and younger look.

Each of Ageless Derma Stem Cell and Peptide Anti-Wrinkle Cream’s special ingredients has undergone rigorous scientific testing that demonstrates its ability to make dramatic improvements on aging skin.

Argireline®
Argireline reduces the depth of wrinkles in the face, especially in the forehead and around the eyes, by attenuating muscle contraction. In one study, 10 healthy women applied a 10% Argireline cream twice daily for 30 days. At the end of the study, their wrinkles had decreased in depth by an average of 27%, with some women seeing a 50-60% decrease in the depth of wrinkles.

Coenzyme 10
Coenzyme 10 is an antioxidant that is found naturally in the body. It helps the skin to retain moisture and prevents damage to collagen and elastin production.

Matrixyl 3000
This product improves skin tone and elasticity. 23 volunteers aged between 39 and 74 applied Matrixyl 3000 to half of their face twice daily for 2 months. On the other half of their face, they applied a placebo cream. The skin that received Matrixyl 3000 showed a significant decrease in wrinkle density, depth, volume roughness compared with the placebo cream.

PhytoCellTec™ Malus Domestica
PhytoCellTec™ uses the stem cells of a rare Swiss apple famed for its longevity – the Uttwiler Spätlauber – to improve the longevity of human skin cells, protect the skin from UV damage, and assist genes that repair DNA. This anti-wrinkle treatment was evaluated in a study of 20 volunteers between the ages of 37 and 64. The cream was applied twice daily to the crow feet around the volunteers’ eyes, and every subject involved in the test showed a significant and visible decrease in wrinkle depth by the conclusion of the study.

Sodium Hyaluronate
Sodium Hyaluronate appears naturally in the skin and plays a vital role in maintaining water balance and the integrity of the skin’s barrier function. As we age, the natural levels of sodium hyaluronate in our skin decline, leaving the skin dry and vulnerable. Sodium Hyaluronate 1% solution combats this by drawing in moisture and increasing the skin’s moisture-holding ability, giving the skin a soft, smooth feel.

Syn®-Coll
Syn®-Coll is an effective and needle-free alternative to collagen injections. This product is a small peptide that mimics that body’s mechanisms to produce collagen. In in vitro testing, Syn®-Coll increased collagen synthesis by 119%, and when applied as a cream twice daily by 60 healthy volunteers, wrinkles saw a 350% improvement after 84 days compared with the placebo cream.

Vialox Powder
Vialox Powder significantly reduces muscle contraction as an injection-free alternative to Botox. Volunteers who used a cream containing the powder twice daily saw up to 49% reduction in wrinkle size and 47% reduction in skin roughness after 28 days.

Even celebrities, who have access to any skincare product they wish, depend upon PhytoCellTec to maintain their luminous complexions. According to Vogue magazine, film stars such as Julianne Moore, Gwyneth Paltrow and Helen Mirren all enjoy the dazzling results of using the apple stem cell extract.

This cream is fairly new to me, so in the short time that I have had it, I noticed how smooth it goes on and contains a great moisturizing quality.  It is not greasy, so my skin absorbs it quite well.  I have a combination of oily and dry skin & so far I enjoy this product.  The cream itself is white and goes on clear. It's easy to apply with the flat surface press pump.

I received the product mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Sibu Beauty Product Review

Repair & Protect
Sibu Beauty is an online company that offers improvement to the
environment and improvement to your skin.
They are proud to offer an exclusive line of health
and beauty products that will improve the way you look
and the way you feel. But they are also sensitive to the constant
stress on our environment due to chemicals,
overflowing landfills, and irresponsible management of our
forests and other valued resources.

Mountian View
The product that I am reviewing is the Sea Buckthorn Facial Cream.
It has omega 7 fatty acids, helps boost collagen production and creates the perfect barrier to moisturize, rejuvenate, repair and protect. This light, non-greasy cream is ideal for daily use and offers a pleasing,
light citrus scent.

  • Promotes tissue recovery and healing
  • Rejuvenates sun damaged skin
  • Protects against environmental stress
  • Preserves health skin tone and texture
  • Boosts collagen production
  • For all skin types
  • 1 fl. oz.
  • 100% natural
This nutrient-infused facial cream is ideal for daily use, with a light citrus scent and non-greasy feel.

I don't use anything special on my skin to keep it clean or looking fresh
because I have very sensitive skin.  The only product that I use daily is a moisturizer.

When I was approached by Sibu Beauty to try their product, I was a bit hesitant.
I visited their website to find out what they're all about and the products that they offer.
Their products are natural, paraben-free and cruelty-free,
and contains NO dairy, yeast, wheat, gluten, sodium or preservatives.

I was impressed by the information they provided, so I decided to give it a try,
after all I'm pushing a high number in age and my skin needs protection and care.
I have been using this product for a week now and compared to my previous moisturizer, I love it!

I love that it's NOT greasy!
It dries fast and it doesn't feel heavy on my skin like other creams.
It does have a citrus scent to it,
but I personally don't mind it because it fades after a while.

I have noticed somewhat of a difference on my skin,
the texture is slightly better and brighter.
Could it be that it works?  I've been applying it for only a week.
At the moment, I am very happy with the current results.
I don't have acne breakouts, no redness and no sensitivity on my skin.
This cream proves to be ideal for my skin.
I'll have to continue applying it for another few weeks to see a real improvement.

Over all, I do like this cream and I have to say I love what the company offers
because they also provide vitamins and a puree to improve your skin from the inside out.
Now that is something worth trying!
Their prices are very reasonable, so I may have to splurge on vitamins too!

all views expressed are my honest opinion, I did not receive any monetary compensation)

How to Make Body Butter

We are all well aware that during the winter months our skin begs for moisture.
The question is whether we should reach for a soothing lotion or a body butter.

There is a difference between body lotion and a body butter.
The body lotion contains water, it goes on smoothly, absorbs quickly and leaves
no greasy residue.  The body butter on the other hand has no water, so it's rich in moisture,
keeps the skin saturated and hydrates better.

My skin gets really dry during the winter. In order to keep it moisturized,
I decided to make my own body butter rather than keep spending more on
commercial body butters or lotions.

This is a great choice in order for you to customize it to meet your own skin's needs.
What better way to save on lotions and at the same time treat your skin with love,
than making it yourself.

I have tried a few recipes, and so far this is my favorite.  I have sensitive skin,
so I used the simplest ingredients for my body butter.  You can adjust it to meet
your own needs or customize it with your own pure fragrance and oils.

This is what I used:

*This will yield several containers for you to save or hand out as gifts.
*Note: The links provided are where you may purchase the ingredients.

Instructions:
1. Melt the Shea butter & coconut oil in microwave safe dish or double boiler, make sure not to over heat.  You will know it's over heated if it boils or gets granulated.
2. Add the vitamin E oil.  Stir it until it is well blended.  Remove from heat.
3. Add corn starch (optional) prevents it from getting too greasy.
4. Place mixture in the freezer for about 5-10 minutes or over a bowl full of ice to cool,
but don't let it get too hard.
5. Add the essential oils, blend well.
6. Use hand or stand mixer to blend the butter until it thickens a bit, about 5-10 minutes.

7. You may need to repeat steps 4 before you start seeing the mix thicken to your consistency preference.
8. Once you reach the thickness of your preference, transfer the mix to a glass jar or container of your choice while still soft with a spatula.

Hope that you enjoy making your own body butter.

How to Make Soap

How to Make Soap

There are plenty of soaps out in the market, but wouldn't it be fun to make them at home with your kiddos or even to make some for the Holidays and hand them out as gifts.  Soap making is a long process and can even be dangerous at times, but this is a simple, easy and safe way to make soap at home with your kids.

To make this at home, you will need the following:

  • Glycerin soap/ blocks, clear or white (this only works with glycerin soap so please do not use a substitute.)
  • Soap dye your choice of color
  • Soap molds
  • Microwave safe liquid measuring cup
  • Spoon
  • Stick (Popsicle or stirrer)
  • Knife (adult handle only)

To Make it:

  • If you use a bar of soap, cut into three pieces.  If you use glycerin blocks, cut off 2-3 pieces.
  • Put glycerin soap into a measuring cup, microwave according to package directions (or 20 seconds), then in 10 second intervals until melted.
  • If you want colors, now is the time to add the dye.  Add a few drops of color and stir.  If you want a darker color, add more dye.

  • Slowly pour the liquid soap into the mold.  Set aside to harden for about an hour.
  • If you are going to make more than one color, then rinse out measuring cup and repeat process for other colors.
  • After the soap has completely cooled, pop it out of the molds, if it is difficult, place it in the freezer for about ten minutes.  Now you have your lovely soap.
Hope you enjoy your soap!

How to Make Homemade Lip Balm

How to Make Homemade Lip Balm
Do you often get chapped or dry lips?
Don't reach for store-bought products containing parabens and petroleum.
Mineral oils and additives dry out sensitive skin,
they are temporarily soothing but, in the end,
dry out the skin, leaving you needing more and more of the product to keep lips moisturized.
Instead, mix up your own recipe at home.  It can also make a nice little gift.

I will share a basic balm recipe and you may customize it to meet your own needs.  This recipe makes about 2 oz. (8-- 1/4oz. containers)

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. (1 tablespoon) Coconut oil (solid)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of beeswax
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of Vitamin E
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon shea butter (solid)
  • 4 drops or more of essential oils, orange or peppermint (do not use fragrance oils) I use Young Living.
  • Lip Balm Containers or Metal Lip Balm Containers
You can find the ingredients online. Here are some links:
BEESWAX PELLETS YELLOW 2-LB

Use a double boiler to melt wax & solid oils or use the microwave.
Do not melt Vitamin E with solids.
Remove from heat and add Vitamin E,
and add essential oil(s) and blend well.
Pour into lip balm containers.
You may refrigerate to solidify quicker.
Makes about 8- 1/4 oz. containers.

 Tip:
To add color to your balm, add a small piece of inexpensive lipstick to the mix.

Hope you enjoy your new lip balm!

How to Make Homemade Sugar Scrub

How to Make Homemade Sugar Scrub

Many of us are busy parents, grandparents, working, stressed... so sometimes we all deserve a little spa treatment.  With prices climbing and time being so limited, we sometimes don't get that pampering opportunity.  Although there are many commercial sugar scrubs in the market that are absolutely divine, sometimes you may run out of your favorite scrub or may need to cut personal expenses.  There are many homemade spa recipes that you may use to get that little personal luxury, so why not make your own!

I have tried a few recipes and found this to be one of the easiest and most functional for my needs.  I prefer raw brown sugar over white sugar,  because I have sensitive skin and the raw brown sugar has a thicker texture compared to the refined white sugar.  This is a basic recipe, but you may try different variations, adding your own personal fragrance, personal oils etc...Just play with it until you get the perfect scrub that is right for you.

The ingredients that you will need are as follows:

-1 jar with lid
-1 cup Raw Brown Sugar or white
-1 cup  Jajoba oil or Fractionated Coconut Oil  (good for skin)
-1 tsp Vitamin E Oil
-1 tbsp Aloe Vera  (Optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon of your choice of Essential Oil (Optional), I use Young Living and Do Terra oils.

To avoid making a mess, I mix the scrub directly in the jar.
To begin, take the sugar and carefully pour it into the jar;
next, add the oil and pour slowly until sugar absorbs it.
Add vitamin E, aloe vera, and the rest of the ingredients.
Take a spoon or small spatula and mix it well.
Depending on how thick or watery you like your scrub,
adjust the amount of sugar and oil until you get the consistency you want.
I like mine a bit watery.

 Now you are all done.

Use the scrub in the shower or tub.
Massage the scrub in a gentle circular motion on rough patches,
this removes dead skin, the scrub is also great for ingrown hair.
 Rinse with warm water.
I love using this scrub on my feet and hands too.
