Celebrate Easter with Peeps

Happy St. Patrick's day y'all!  For today's post, I will be sharing some of our ideas for the coming Easter.  This Easter season we will be celebrating our festivities with Easter baskets filled with Peeps & Company goodies along with some reading books.

PEEPS & COMPANY® was sweet enough to send me several items and treats to share with you and others, such as PEEPS® earbuds, luggage tag, Orange Delight Flavored Marshmallow Dipped in Orange Fudge,  Marshmallow Bunnies, Decorated Eggs, Party Cake Flavored Marshmallow Chicks, Sour Watermelon Flavored Marshmallow Chicks, Chocolate Mousse Flavored Marshmallow Bunnies,  Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Chicks, Rainbow Pop, • MIKE AND IKE® Easter Treats,• MIKE AND IKE® Jellybeans & HOT TAMALES® Jellybeans.  Peeps & Company also has many other items that are not candy, they have beach balls, socks, luggage tags, pillows and so much more.

This year I used a light wooden basket along with the traditional Easter baskets to add a little theme.  I chose a farm/ shabby theme, so I painted the wooden basket with white craft paint and decorated my basket with Easter stickers and a tiny banner.

I chose a few of my child's favorite items from Peeps & Company, placed them in a large plastic Easter egg, then I used jars to fill them with the Peeps jelly beans and covered them with a decorative lid featuring bunnies.

There are numerous ways to celebrate using Peeps & Company, one of my favorite ideas are decorative Peeps marshmallows used to decorate cakes for Spring festivities.

For your Peeps & Company Easter, be sure to check them out and order your peeps favorites for your Easter baskets.  Peeps & Company will give all Inspirations by D readers 20% off on your purchase when you use code: EASTERTREATS at checkout.

I hope that you have a wonderful and blessed Easter and let me know which Peep & Company items you choose to fill your baskets with.

(Disclaimer)* I received Peeps & Company products for review. All opinions are solely mine and I have not received any monies for my opinion.

Making Memories...

I'm back from my vacation friends and it's good to be back!
My 40 days of no blogging and no internet, really helped me clear
my mind and focus on a list of things that are important to me.

Today I'm sharing some random photos from our Easter Weekend.
It was beautiful and I enjoyed every aspect of it.

We shared the Resurrection story with the kids as we do every year
as a reminder of what Easter is all about.
I used paper gift bags instead of baskets for gifts this year.
I decorated them and filled them with goodies.  It was easier to carry than baskets,
and that way they didn't have extra baskets to carry around.

The children enjoyed egg hunting and they had a blast with the cracking
of the eggs.  We adapted a Greek Egg game, the eggs are suppose to be
a rich red, but the coloring was a challenge, so I got them eggs with confetti
inside.  I did not anticipate the fun they would have with this game.

The eggs are to be dyed red because it represents the blood that Jesus shed for us.
The cracking or crashing of the eggs symbolizes Christ breaking out of the Tomb;
"Christ is Risen, Indeed He Has Risen."

When someone crashed their egg against another person's egg, the confetti flew out,
a celebration of our Lord's Resurrection.
Then all the children gathered their Easter eggs from the egg hunt
and they opened them up to find their goodies inside.

Dinner was delicious, thanks to our friends Michelle & Charles who provided the meal.
We had a blessed weekend and hope that you did too.
What did you do Easter Weekend?

Easter Weekend Re-Cap

This recipe has been shared in many places around the Internet.
This year I decided it was time for my little one to learn about the Crucifixion and Resurrection
of our Lord, although he knows who Jesus is, he was too young to really comprehend it all.
To help him understand, we made some Resurrection cookies.

This is a wonderful way to share with your children the
We began by placing the pecans in a plastic freezer bag.
My little man used a rolling pin to break the pecans into small pieces.

I explained that after Jesus was arrested,  the Roman soldiers beat Jesus.
The story continues on with the recipe,
to follow the rest of it, go here.
In the morning the oven was opened and my son found these yummy Resurrection cookies.
They were round and the fluffiness hardened, so when you bit into it,
it formed somewhat of an empty cave.
“He is not here, He is Risen”.
Matthew 28:6

The mass was beautiful.
After church, we held an Easter egg  hunt and the kids enjoyed it.
Not a cloud in the sky, but notice that he is wearing his rain boots.
Those are his favorite!
After the egg hunt and a quiet beautiful afternoon,
we headed out to visit friends for an Easter dinner.
I left my camera and don't have photos to share, but everything was beautiful and yummy!
My favorite was the carrot cake bunny!
Thank you Laura!

My Random Weekend

Hey everyone!  It's been a while since I've written a random post.
I hope that you had a wonderful and fun St. Patrick's Day.
We had a beautiful, bright and warm weekend in these parts, perhaps a little too warm.
And although the weekend was gorgeous, I wasn't able to enjoy it much.
You see, I was feeling ill this weekend; drained, in pain and just...not myself.
I was feeling like this nest, pretty empty, sickly and unmotivated.

The hubs has been super sweet, comforting me and taking care of things around the house
while I tried to rest, but I just couldn't rest.  I didn't want to miss a thing with my two boys.
So while they had some fun, I finished my little can container to store my camera wires
 and fabric roses.

For St. Patrick's Day, I made my little family a quick and delicious meal,
since I wasn't feeling well, I decided to make something easy.
I made creamy pasta with carrots and beef tips in gravy.
The easy part was that the only thing I made from scratch, was the pasta sauce.
The meat was already cooked and it only needed to be defrosted.
I added the carrots to the gravy and beef.
It pays off when you cook in advance and freeze food for times like this.

Craft Easter Garden: Colleen Hammond
I am loving this lovely Easter Garden by Colleen Hammond.
What a great way to teach our children about the real meaning of Easter,
by planting a little garden using potting soil, a very small flower pot for the tomb,
shade grass seeds, and crosses made of twigs.
All you do is sprinkle the seeds and keep soil moist for about 7- 10 days.
Do this at least 12 days before Easter and watch your garden grow,

This is my new love!
I was visiting several Volkswagen sites and came across this beauty.
Oh, how I wish to have a little camper like this.
Can you picture this?
Candy apple red with a white roof,
interior little kitchenette, camping bed, comfy seats, cute drapery on the windows,
adorable crochet or knitted blankets lots of love and travel.
I have a VW Golf
which I love, but this little baby would add so many wonderful
family memories if we had one.
Many camping weekends, road trips and so much more.

How did you spend our weekend?
