Natural Bridge

The Natural Bridge
I have been out and about and just want to share some of the places I visited during these
travels.  Unfortunately, I did not carry my camera with me, but I used my phone to photograph
what I saw, so the quality may not be it's best.

Let me begin with this amazing Natural Bridge. As we drove up north, we decided to
make a stop and take a nature walk with our son.  My boys love the outdoors and enjoy
exploring new things.

When we walked down the path, we never imagined the Natural Bridge to be as enormous as it is.
It is quite a sight!  Story mentions that our first president, George Washington, actually carved
his initials on this bridge.

I didn't post all the creatures we met along the way, but here is one of my son's favorites,
the short millipede and one of my least favorites, snakes.  The snakes are said to be harmless,
I was inches away from this one, I noticed it before placing my arm on that rock, yikes!!
Did I scream?  You bet!  My son loved this adventure.  It was like a scientist or explorer
out on a mission to discover all that nature offers.

If you have kids that love a good nature walk and that love to explore creatures of all sorts,
this is a stop that must be made.  There is so much more to explore in the area including caverns.
Here is a link if you want to learn more about Virginia's Natural Bridge.

See you on the next stop.
I hope that you are enjoying your summer, what have you been up to these past days?

Puerto Rico All Star Vacation Island

This post brought to you by Puerto Rico, The All-Star Island. All opinions are 100% mine.
Have you ever vacationed in the Caribbean Islands?  I have mentioned that we have traveled a couple of times down to the islands.  Today I will share with you one of the many islands to visit, Puerto Rico.  It is a wonderful vacation destination filled with world class attractions. Whether you're a golfer, foodie, the adventure type, or a beach hopper, Puerto Rico has everything that you want in a nice relaxing vacation.

beach in puerto rico
Puerto Rico has 270 miles of coastline and featured in the Top 10 beaches from Travel Channel -- including Flamenco Beach in Culebra, often cited as one of the best beaches in the world. You can glow like an angel in the water in the Bioluminescent bays. You can visit the only rain forest under US national park service, El Yunque, and climb to the clouds. History Buffs can enjoy old world charm of San Juan. Adventurers can enjoy horseback riding or the magnificent Camuy caverns that runs through the 3rd largest subterranean river in the world. Foodies can experience the delicacies of Puerto Rican gastronomy and its famous Rums.

El Yunque is the only subtropical rain forest in the U.S. National Forest Service, a place so indescribable that it must be seen, heard and felt. It’s one of our must-visit destinations.

With 25 courses around the island to choose from, there are fairways suited for any experience level, from beginner to pro in Golf.  In fact, The Puerto Rico Open has been part of the PGA Tour since 2008.

Toro Verde features the longest Zip Line on Earth: La Bestia. It uses a specially designed harness to soar through the air across 4,745 feet of terrain.

There is so much to do and see in this island and if you want to read more about it, visit seepuertorico.com where you will be shown the best itineraries for your next vacation.  The best part of visiting this island is that you don't need a visa or passport or foreign currency.  It is part of the states, so you just take a photo ID and hop on the plane to your dream get away.

Travel Diary: Night Photos- End of Trip

Here are a few of my favorite dusk to dark photos from the resort in the Dominican Republic.
This resort is called Iberostar Costa Dorada.  It is gorgeous, especially at night when
the different colors pour forth in every direction with the help of lights.  My photos do no justice.
The food was amazing, the service was awesome, entertainment was amusing, and the wedding was
fabulous.  If you are ever in that part of the world, this is a must.  It has been voted one of the top
resorts to visit around the world.  This is the last bunch of photos of our trip, I hope that you enjoyed.

Travel Diary: Around the Pool

The hotel provides many activities to keep you entertained and the view alone is amazing.
When you step toward the back of the pool, you can see the mountains in the background
and it is a beautiful sight.

Travel Diary: The Beach

We arrived in the Caribbean after the tropical storm had seized.  The weather was beautiful
after that, but the beach brought a lot of seaweed.  They cleaned it everyday, but it just kept coming.
We didn't let that stop us from enjoying the ocean.  Follow me on our walk to the beach below.
Isn't it beautiful?  They provide a lot of activities such as snorkeling, kayaking and more.
If you are ever in the Caribbean, this is one stop you might want to consider.

Travel Diary: Arrival at the Resort

We arrived at our hotel in the afternoon and the first thing we saw when we entered the lobby was this
enormous rustic chandelier, they have several in the lobby area, then the water feature in the center of the lobby surrounded by beautiful furnishings from the island.  After check-in, we walked by the courtyard and caught a glimpse of the architecture and cafe-style iron tables and chairs.
Did I mention there are flamingos, peacocks & turtles?  We were all loving it!

Back from Vacation!

If you aren't content to just sit by the pool at the Iberostar Costa Dorada, there are activities all around the resort, from archery to merengue lessons. (From: Photos: Best Beachfront All-Inclusive Resorts that Fit Your Budget).

You have probably noticed a two week respite on this blog
and perhaps other social media pages.  That is because I was spending time with
my family, I was researching ideas for my Etsy shop, soaking in the the beautiful Caribbean
sun,  and I participated in a destination wedding; my sister got married!
It was a beautiful, fun and inspiring wedding.  I am so happy for my little sister
and wish her & my new brother in law much happiness.
The photos above are a snip of the two weeks, this is the resort we stayed in
for the wedding and it was gorgeous, we loved it so much we extended our stay there for three more days.

I told you that I would be back for this, delicious!
Times Square in Photos
This place is fully alive with music, entertainment, food, shopping,
lights and so much more. Thank you for taking a look at our
New York City trip!  We are happy to be back home and back to the swing
of things.  Hope that you enjoy your weekend!

Central Park Zoo in New York

Central Park Zoo in New York
One of our many stops in New York was the Zoo.
Right in the middle of this great city is Central Park.  This is a great place to be if
you're looking to take in all of what nature has to offer.
We were smitten by this adorable sea lion, as he swam lapses around the pool.
We had a great time feeding the animals,
enjoying the day and taking in the wonders of this beautiful park.
Nothing is better than watching your child smile, spending your time with loved ones
enjoying the moment.  Not collecting, not wasting, just being with those you love
and lending a hand to those who need it.
