Handmade Christmas Home 2011

Welcome to our home!

I've kept the decor simple.
Foyer mirror decorated with a simple branch and ornaments.
This is faux snow made from cotton balls and it hangs behind our Christmas tree for a snow fall effect.
My son got a kick out of making these.
Handmade cones with glitter!
Just rolled paper, glued it and added sparkle.
The work of my little one.
His letter block fort.
I kept the mantel very simple this year with only a few handmade items and candles.
Dining table with bright reds.

Oh Christmas Tree, oh Christmas tree...

NieNie's New Life

A couple of months after I joined the world of blogging, I noticed an image of a bright turquoise typewriter that read "I read NieNie" on several blogs.

At first I ignored the image, but as I came across more blogs with the same image, I started to wonder, what is this "I read NieNie" image?  Then one day I clicked on it.  There is was, Stephanie's story.  I was so inspired by her as a person, a mother and a wife, that I became a regular reader.  We are different in many ways, but the same in others.
She is one of the most beautiful women I know in the world of blogging and she is strong, real, honest and a great inspiration.
Watch the video and let me know your thoughts.

The Marshmallow Test

Cute video, with reward at the end.
We tried this experiment with our son and it was just as funny.
We thought for sure that he was going to give in, but he didn't.
You never know the potential in kids until you test them.
Oh, the power of Marshmallows!
