Inspired by Pink

Pink decor
Ever thought of using the color pink in your home? I know, I know,
who would've thought?  But take a look at these inspirational ideas,
they look pretty don't they?  Why not brighten up a space this winter
with unexpected touches of pink.  Have you ever thought of bringing in a little
feminine color to your space?  Perhaps not, but take a look at these inspiring
spaces with just a touch of blush.

I was organizing my closet and came across several pink items for
the home that were given to me by my Mother-in-Law over the last few years.
They are mostly linen and towels, but bright and beautiful pillows, lamps,
window treatments or candle holders can bring dramatic flair to a ho-hum
bedroom or living room.
How about paint?  You don't have to re paint an entire room to enjoy
the benefits of bright colors.  Choose one or two smaller pieces of furniture--
bookcases, end tables, cabinets or even a door--and give them an instant
makeover with a coat of your choice of shade of pink paint.

And don't forget the power of table settings.  Perfect for the upcoming
Valentine Holiday, have your guests warm up to the pink tones by dressing
your table with pink and also serving some yummy pink treats.

Wrapping Wall Station Inspiration

PotteryBarn
Hey you guys, I've been working on a few things and I wanted to give you an
idea of what one of my little projects is about.  I have seen several cool wrapping
wall stations around the internet and let me just say that they are pretty expensive.
You know me, waste not want not, so I'm a mission to create my own.

I've been gathering photos for inspiration and plan on using them to make the station that is right  for me.
So I have started gathering materials from my garage, I have found wood and other lovely pieces laying around to make this happen.  It's time to cut and glue.  Stay tuned for the reveal coming soon.  For now, enjoy these inspirations.

Inspired by Pallet Furniture

Pallet Furniture

There is so much you can do with pallets, it just amazes me.
Mr. M was inspired to work with pallets after viewing different furniture ideas.
If you remember, he worked with some pallets for this project
and has not stopped since.

He built a desk for me, but I don't have a photo to share at this moment,
but if you visit Funky Junk Interiors, it is exactly like hers.
He followed her tutorial, and now we have a large desk to meet our needs.

We were also in need of night tables for our bedroom and Mr. M decided to build
them out of pallets.  I was not sure about it at first, considering that pallets tend to
have rough edges, but when he was finished with the tables, I was smitten with them.
The edges were sanded and clean, without taking away that rustic look.

Of course it needs to be filled in in many areas, but once filled, sanded and painted,
I'm sure that it will work in our room.  My current dilemma is what color to paint it.
Any suggestions?

This is the headboard that we recently worked on.
The frame is made out of pallets, can you tell?
There is a tiny problem though, due to the overlapping of the wood,
it makes it difficult to add nail heads evenly.  My man was not thinking about nail heads,
so it's going to remain that way, sigh!

I may have to leave them out of this one, unless I place them around
the headboard like the Pottery Barn headboard.
Help me here, I need suggestions, leave them out or put them in?

So once these items are finished, I'll post the final reveal for you to see, wish me luck.
Hope that you enjoy!
